Why It Matters
What Paint Correction Actually Fixes
🌀
Swirl Mark Elimination
Swirl marks are micro-scratches from improper washing. Machine polishing removes them from the clear coat surface, restoring a flat, mirror-like finish.
💧
Water Spot Removal
Hard water and rain leave mineral deposits that etch into clear coat. Correction removes etching before it becomes permanent paint damage.
☀️
Oxidation Restoration
Sun fades and dull paint is oxidized clear coat. Machine polishing cuts away the damaged layer, revealing fresh clear coat beneath — before the damage goes too deep.
🔬
Scratch Correction
Light scratches in the clear coat can be polished out entirely. Deeper scratches are reduced significantly. We’ll tell you honestly what correction can fix.
✨
Gloss Amplification
Even paint with no visible defects benefits from correction. Polishing amplifies gloss depth and clarity — particularly noticeable on dark-colored vehicles.
🛡️
Ceramic Coating Prep
Paint correction is required before ceramic coating. Coating seals in your paint’s current state — correction ensures that state is perfect. Most of our coating customers add correction.

3
Machine Polishing
We work panel by panel with the correct combination of compound, polish, and pad for each defect level. IPA wipe between stages reveals true correction.
4
Finish & Protect
Corrected paint is sealed with a paint sealant, carnauba wax, or ceramic coating. Final inspection ensures every defect has been addressed.
Common Questions
Paint Correction FAQ
Can paint correction remove all scratches?
Clear coat scratches (scratches that don’t go through to the color or primer) can be corrected. Deep scratches that penetrate the color coat cannot be polished out — those require touch-up paint or panel respray.
How long does paint correction take?
Single-stage correction typically takes 4–6 hours. Two-stage takes 6–8 hours. Full correction on a larger vehicle can take a full day. We’ll give you a time estimate when you book.
Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?
Yes — strongly recommended. Ceramic coating amplifies everything under it, including defects. We correct the paint first so the coating locks in perfection, not imperfections.
How much does paint correction cost in Kansas City?
Single-stage starts at $300, two-stage at $500, full correction at $800. Price depends on vehicle size and paint condition. Call (816) 863-3064 for a quote.
Will paint correction damage my paint?
No — when done correctly. We measure paint thickness before every panel. Our process removes only the necessary amount of clear coat and never risks burn-through.
How long does paint correction last?
The correction itself is permanent — polished-out defects don’t come back. Protection length depends on what you apply afterward: wax (2–3 months), sealant (6–12 months), or ceramic coating (1–5 years).
