New Car Ceramic Coating: Should You Do It Right Away?

You just bought a new car. It’s perfect. Should you ceramic coat it right away, or wait? This is one of the best decisions you can make — and the timing matters more than most people realize.

Why New Cars Benefit Most from Ceramic Coating

A brand new car has the best possible paint to work with. The clear coat is fresh, uncontaminated, and free of swirl marks (usually). Coating it now means locking in that factory-perfect condition permanently.

Wait 6 months and you’ll have dealer wash swirls, UV exposure, bird dropping etching, and road contamination to deal with first.

Does a New Car Need Paint Correction?

Possibly. Many new vehicles arrive at dealerships with light swirl marks from dealer prep washes, transport film adhesive residue, or factory imperfections. We inspect every vehicle before recommending whether paint correction is needed.

If the paint is truly perfect, we can go straight to coating. If there are light swirls (common on dark-colored vehicles), a Stage 1 correction takes care of it first.

Best Time to Coat: Within 30 Days of Purchase

The ideal window is within the first 30 days. Before the car has been through automatic washes, before significant UV exposure, and before the paint accumulates contamination. Getting it coated at this stage means maximum protection from day one.

New Car Ceramic Coating Package

For new vehicles in excellent condition, we typically recommend our 3-year or 5-year ceramic coating. Combined with annual checkups, your new car’s paint can stay protected for the full ownership period.

  • 3-Year Package: Starting at $750 (includes annual checkups)
  • 5-Year Package: Starting at $1,000 (includes annual checkups)
